Tuesday. It looks like it's going to be a dry and sunny day for a change. Only a couple of months late!

Out to lunch today. The George at Frocester. Now a sleepy village, but used to be the main Bath to London road in the days of stage coaches. Outside on the road junction is a very small triangular patch of grass with a tree on it. The pub was also the local court. Highway men were tried in there, then taken out and hanged on the gallows tree. Some of them still haunt the pub, which was a way station, where horses were changed and travellers could spend the night.

Just thought I'd give you that piece of local knowledge.

Tiggy was out and about all the relatively warm night. didn't stop him seeing off his supper though!

Have a happy day everyone.

Morning minty xxx how are you and mum this morning? ;o}
Good morning, MM.

There's nothing on that menu that really grabs my attention. I generally don't like traditional British food; I'd much rather have Mediterranean, Asian or Mexican grub.
ah well toast and Tea it is then....deffo way past bed time..it's uppy up time...

fine ta boaty..got mum's grass cut yesterday and nephew plus girlfriend and 2 large dogs appeared so it was dinner for 5...looking quite nice today so hoping to get front hedge cut..
It's definitely the right one, Boaty. However they seem to prefer to call it 'The Frocester', rather than 'The George'. (Perhaps the old name is too 'common' for them now?)

I agree Chris.

It is minty. At one time Vera and I used to nigh on live there. When she had the first cancer and was in hospital I went to her every morning and stayed until she went to sleep in the evening, usually about 8 O'Clock, I then went to the George and had to give them an update on her, while doing that Nicky, the boss barmaid, was pulling a pint for me, Alistair, the chef asked me what I wanted for dinner. All the time she was in hospital they never took a penny off me. When she was home and ready to go out, the first place we went was there. What a welcome 'home;' she got! An evening to remember!
