It has been said that by his remarks Trump was calling for Clinton to be assassinated. Absolute rubbish of course, but then what do you expect?
Shameless behaviour from both parties.
This is an old myth that keeps getting perpetrated. The second amendment was about forming a militia. It has nothing to do with modern guns, especially those owned by "non-military" people.
The bloke is a first rate clown.
try arguing that with a NRA constitutional lawyer in court, Marshwarble - I don't think you would get that far.
From the article links published here, it sure doesn't seem to be rubbish. It seems a fairly blatant yet deniable hint at shooting the person giving them grief. At the most charitable it could be seen as a thoughless unfortunate choice of words. Pretty much standard for Trump as he picks and chooses meaning after seeing what the public reaction is.
The clip shown on Sky News this morning had the camera facing directly at Trump, so behind him were ranks of his supporters, nearly all of whom were laughing at his comment about gun-fans possibly taking action against Clinton. They knew what he meant all right and it wasn't that they should make sure not to vote for her! If that were likely, why would they even have been there?
Listening to the precise remarks it's clear that Trump never said in so many words that Clinton should be assassinated. But suggesting to people at a rally in his support that maybe they shouldn't vote for Clinton over this one issue is clearly not what he was meaning either. It's the sort of statement that's made deliberately ambiguous so that anyone can interpret it legitimately as a call for assassination while still being defensible.

To coin a phrase, it's pretty shabby of Trump to say this. In some sense, I'd expected better of him -- after his remarkable victories in the Republican nomination I had thought he would have the adaptability to widen his appeal. So far, he's narrowing it daily.
I'm sick of Trump. Zillions of people are sick of Trump. Why don't we all just agree he is ghastly, and stop giving him even more publicity ?
It's clearly an unscripted 'joke' about assassination. Probably ok down the pub or something, but in this context it highlights what a buffoon he is.

Have Svejk sold you his phone, ludwig?

It sounded deliberately ambiguous to me.
If you listen to it, he goes on to say '..but that would be horrible' ie realising he may have just incited a few thousand nutters to commit murder, he puts in a quick disclaimer. So, not really that ambiguous.

I suppose it would be horrible to encourage gun-totin' Americans to go out and vote, though... :/
Actually for the sake of clarity he says "that would be a horrible day if Hillary gets to pick her judges" (although where the sentence break actually is isn't always that clear whenever Trump speaks).

But the rest of the speech is straight out of the NRA's "I can't construct a coherent gun rights argument really so I'll just talk about the bad guys a lot until I get applause", so I wouldn't want to give him too much credit.
O i got it as...
.
"Hillary wants to abolish
essentially abolish the second amendment
by the way
if she gets to pick her judges
nothing you can do folks

"the second amendment ,people may be, there is I dont know
but I'll tell you what, that would be a harrible day ...."

on the viddie there is the guy in red who goes like 'whaaaa?'
and his wife sitting next to him just laughs ....

Apparently Trump is to withdraw from the Presidential race as the medics have identified a brain tumour during a colonoscopy examination.....

I agree, but if held at gunpoint I would plump for Trump, merely because I have a visceral antipathy to Hillary. Anyway, he should be fun, his carers will keep him strictly in hand.
