I assume that there is no local church and the crem doubles as an alternative, otherwise I think it's in very bad taste.

Oh I think it's an excellent use of a little Chapel that would otherwise be sat empty in the evening and in a very good cause.

My local council crematorium has annual open days that give a full tour of all the facilities including the cremators; two services of remembrance, one in summer and one at Christmas; an annual remembrance especially for those who have lost children.

I see nothing wrong with this.

Presumably the crematorium chapel also has a Garden of Remembrance next to it.

remembrance I can understand but carol services??- there's plenty of churches and a whopping cathedral in the town, the very one where the Festival of nine carols and lessons was created by one Bishop Benson (the first bish of Truro when it separated from the Exeter See and who became Archbish of Canterbury)

Just lost my Dad and left at local crematorium the funeral cost 5 grand for everything which I though was rssonable then got a flyer from crematorium 2 grand for ashes £80 for six lines in book of remembrance they are having AB laugh at a trying time, no way hose!
