Knowing that this abominable practice is banned in the UK is it not time to ban the also abominable practice of mutilating little boys by circumcision.?

i just posted a thread on fgm, it might be banned but the clinic that has had its funding cut, has just been closed.
whilst the cutting of little boys is abhorrent to me, i know a lot who say its more clean..

I am in dispute with someone on Facebook who posted a video of FGM being carried out. I told this person that it's bad enough that it goes on but please don't glorify it by showing it. I was castigated and told to "Wake up" by another FBer. We are all aware that this practice goes on ( it was even inthe London news tonight) but let's not glorify it. Sorry if this doesn't answer your question, but yes, I believe that circumcision (unless for medical reasons) should be stopped.

I don't believe the comparison works. But that said, circumcision for non legitimate medical reasons does sound like assault to me. Unless chosen by a consenting adult. It is certainly worthy of debate.
You're right, the comparison doesn't work!!

As already answered on the other thread I believe that male circumcision should only be carried out if there is medical need and should, otherwise, be banned.
yes it is very wrong to cut or hurt a child like this either in islam or judism or any other faith for that reason.
