in America it may well be. In Britain it's (supposedly) about promoting British national interests. We are currently in an era where people feel no bligation to consider anyone else's interests but their own.

However, many argue that nations are better off working together, and that the prosperity of the last 100 years ago comes in part from the benefits of international trade, in which it may be necessary to make compromises and expect to lose on the swings but gain on the roundabouts.

Of course. Every country in the world is routing for America to do better than they are, such is the global love for the USA.
Nope they're self appointed and have the 'world' series which is rounders to us Brits and they only include their own country as participants as well as overlook the fact that Football (Soccer) is a global phenomenon except in their arrogant part of the planet.
