Is Being Lgbt (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender) Sinful?

Britain is a secular society and religion should be practised as a matter of private individual faiths & preferences, not to be regarded as the ultimate prescription in laws, life, the universe & everything for society.
In my opinion, Strict literal interpretation (sanctioning stoning for blasphemy & adultery) of the Old Testament (or Sharia Law, etc), reflects the homophobic, racist, chauvinists attitudes of around 3,000 BD to 700 AD. This is counterproductive in the 21st century.
Phenomena can be scientifically explained, proved & verified, without having to invoke explanations that involve the spiritual world. Invoking the name of God on complex issues (as in the dark ages) can hinder the seeking of explanations & solutions from a scientific & logical standpoint to pressing problems.
It is unethical to seek to ‘cure’ (by upbringing) for homosexuality or lesbianism & would put unfounded blame on the parents.
I believe being heterosexual or homosexuality are natural innate characteristics from birth. Neither of such sexual orientations want to change to the other.
In studies identical twins (identical genes) brought u in different family environment have almost 100% concordance (similarity) in sexual preferences, indicating that nature is the determining factor rather than nurture (upbringing).
Heterosexual male & lesbians have neurotically denser (~twice) & elongated interstitial nucleus of anterior hypothalamus (INAH3) neurons, compared with heterosexual females & gays.
Studies have shown that inhibiting denser elongated male INAH3 in male ferrets has been found to cause changes from typical female preference to male preference behaviours. Likewise if similar area was lesioned in sheep, preference for eves by rams diminishes.
Male INAH3 morphology has been physiologically correlated to higher testosterone levels in the womb environment. There are growing evidence that sexual differences in the brain are determined prenatally (including genetically), like the testosterone levels in the womb, affecting neuro-pathways wiring whilst in gestation.
LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender) Pride, is analogous to 'Black is Beautiful' movement - espousing human rights for LGBTs & Blacks. Personally (as a heterosexual), however, I can find romance in public between same sex is bit off-putting. But live & let live, each to their own tastes. 'One person's drink is another's poison'.
Reference: http:// serendi p.brynm awr.edu /bb/kin ser2/bb /gender 9.html reports, "Simon LeVay has studied and compared the brains of heterosexual and homosexual men and heterosexual women. In particular, he has compared the size of the INAH-3 in these brains from cadavers. He found that the largest INAH3 clusters tended to belong to heterosexual men, the smallest to homosexual men; in fact, on average, heterosexual men had clusters twice the size of homosexual men's"

Religions would not exist if they could not load their followers with guilt, hence their invention of sin. I ignore all the guilt which religions try to load on to me. My personal commandments say "Obey the law. Think before you act. Try your best not to make people feel worse for having met you. Don't mess up the planet any more than you can help. "
Sin is an irrelevant concept.

"But as was the case in 1993, not all researchers are convinced that science is homing in on the biological roots of sexual preference. Even the senior author on the Psychological Medicine paper, Northwestern University psychologist Michael Bailey, had his doubts. “I thought that [Hamer] did a fine but small study,” he told Science. “If I had to bet, I would have bet against our being able to replicate it.” "
I love it when a reference given for X - when looked up - refutes it

Peter Pedant,
What 'randomisation' - the studies were on identical twins (identical genes) brought up in different family environments (i.e. adopted by different families) whereby both pairs of twins were both gay or heterosexual - indicating that nature (genes) were the determining factor rather than nurture (upbringing).
I take great exception when you speculated (without any evidence whatsoever) that my own post is 'copied & paste' when every single sentence (apart from the quote) about religion, sexual preferences in my post are my own authorship, perceptions, take and opinion (i.e. sexual orientation are genetically determined)! Unlike you, I can write my own articles. Don't be jealous!

If you accept that the BIBLE is the Word of God, then the answer to your question is an unequivocal YES, it IS sin.
However, the Bible also makes it perfectly clear that ANY sexual activity outside the bonds of marriage is also sin.
Even thoughts of lust are sinful.
So basically, this pretty much covers the WHOLE of humanity.
So having one group pointing fingers at another group is very hypocritical.
Humanity can only be judged by ONE standard.
No human being is perfect so he/she can't be the one who sets that standard.
The standard has to be set by a PERFECT entity who knows each one of us inside out.

It depends on your views and perceptions.
As an atheist, I do not acknowledge the concept of 'sin', so to me it is not a sin.
If I asked my local priest if it was a sin, he would tell me that it is.
We both put on our trousers one leg at a time, we both adhere to beliefs that make us happy.
Personally, I managed to answer your Question from its headline - I didn't need all the diatribe afterwards to come up with a response - I doubt anyone else did either.
