I feel sure there must be decent individuals in the traveller community, but as a group they are a pain. They have no interest in any particular location, no loyalty to it ir the local residents: so give next to nothing to it, but need to stop so have a, "You must provide for us", perspective. And no incentive, aside from personal moral values, to treat the place decently. If they must travel why don't they all opt to stop in the wilds, and clear up after themselves ? Leave residential areas to the residents who contribute.

They have just moved into my local park!!!! The main gates were forced open. There is about 10 caravans. How can they live like this???

I know of three people who've had dealings with them and have regretted it ever since. One of them refuses to give to red nose day as they give money to them.

Most have homes. My last tenants were travellers (unbeknown to me when they rented). DSS paid their rent et al. They 'holidayed' for weeks in their top of range caravan & new hummer.

There are different types of travellers. The type in your links are no more than criminal thugs.

I'd love to know how the tax authorities make travellers pay any kind of taxes

Hate them, used to have them round here until the land they camped on was built on and they used to steal from backyards, they even stole a family's pet dog (they got it back) and the filth they left behind was unbelievable ...
