Suntrust Overdraft Fees
7 Answers
So I am really getting sick of Suntrusts shady moves and I dont understand how this is even legal. I made 3 transactions yesterday and I am 100% sure that I had enough money in my account to cover them. They even showed up in my account and showed the amounts left after them. I also have a screenshot from just hours before i got hit with these overdraft fees with a POSTIVE balance. I logged back in and all of the sudden everything is different from yesterday and they charges i made are all out of order and now i'm being charged a 36$ fee. It's saying i over drafted yesterday but how could i have done that if hours before all these fees and debits posted, i had a postive balance??? Also, my direct deposit paycheck went through at the same time all this posted and the so called charge that "overdrafted" my account didn't show a negative balance yesterday after it was made and is now showing that it overdrafted and posted the same time my direct deposit paycheck came through so now my account has more than enough in it and my account is positive and it's still saying its "overdrawn". I feel like Suntrust has done multiple shady things like this and I'm switching banks. my question is how is this even legal and how can i fight to get the ridiculous 36$ fee refunded that i shouldn't have even been charged to begin with.

I doubt it is doing shady things. If they are saying you are overdrawn and you can see you aren't then challenge it. But what has probably happened is that there was a payment out in the pipeline which hadn't cleared when you first looked but had cleared later. If there is an incorrect transaction on your statement you need to query that.
