My 3 GSDs, 2 yorkies & 2 chwwas rarely leave my property. Their 'woopsies' are collected off laws via hand spade & chucked into pasture or hedgerow - in hope the scent deters foxes.

Your pastures? Your hedgerows? Can I come and defecate next to your ‘property’ and throw the faeces into your hedge?

Dog park here in Miami. Passed by once, lots of dogs going mad, barking and sorry to say, a little smelly.
As I am scared of dogs, venturing into this park is my worst nightmare!

I refuse to comment on this (apart from this comment) because this aber is a definite dog hater and I have far more intelligent and interesting threads to read.
Change of mind - it's up to the dog owners to clear up, a dog can't be blamed for pooing. Humans at fault again for not cleaning up after their pets. Now, as I said, more interesting threads to read.
do you go to the park regularly bainbrig?

I saw lots in the parks in New York. Railed and gated areas .People sitting on benches and dogs running around. Dog poo being picked up by the owners . Looked ok to me . Dogs are not allowed to run free on the streets so it was a good source of exercise for them. Might not work for all dogs though. Mine would be too aggressive towards the other dogs.
Which aber is the dog hater?? If you are referring to me, quite right I hate dogs after being badly bitten by one. Just hearing a bark brings back that nightmare.

Some must've had an adventurous Easter.
-SharonA- , I think hereIam meant she is a dog hater.
No, No, No BB is the dog hater, not me !!! I often post about my dog who I absolutely adore. I worded that post wrongly, obviously.

I love dogs. Dogs love me. I’m just less than keen in sliding around in their faecal matter.

(Sorry, hereiam, or as you were - a woman and her prejudices are not easily parted).
As an aside from all this, I'm someone who detests dogs, but unfortunately I have to walk the one my OH bought when her shifts mean she cannot.

One one such walk a couple of years ago I got chatting to the lady who doese butterfly transects locally. She told me she had seen a Red Admiral land on a bit of dog poo and stay there for a good 10 minutes. On asking why a butterfly would do that I was told that in order to breed the Red Admirals have to put out some pretty powerful pheromones, and whatever it was getting from the dog poo helped with that.
hereIam, sorry. :o/

If butterflies benefit from the poo of other creatures, foxes, badgers, and general wildlife will provide for them. No excuse for the laziness of the inconsiderate.
