Theresa Mays' Eid Video.

Good luck to all peaceful Muslims who celebrated Eid at the end of Ramadan.
I hope they all enjoyed themselves.
I am taken aback though, to see Theresa May making a patronising video speech to the Muslims, akin to the Queen addressing the nation at Christmas.
It appears that the government is so craven in the face of Islamic demands for more and more concessions and special treatment, against a backdrop of radicalisation and jihadi violence, that they feel it warrants a further dilution of our customs, ie the personal appearance of our Prime Minister to vicariously bestow the nations blessings on just one section of society.
Will she, I wonder, make similar appearances for our Christian festivals?
To not do so,is hypocracy.
So, my friends, am I just being churlish or do you agree?

vestute, it was the second Iftar dinner hosted by Southwark Cathedral. My niece's school which is also multicultural hosts a school Iftar to which all parents, staff and students are invited. I am not sure what people want really....when Muslims don't want to integrate with people of other faiths or none, that's wrong, and when they do then that's wrong too.
Oh and Theland in answer to you question, I don't think you are being churlish, I think you are being silly.

Just watched both and tbh I couldn’t give a tinkers *** that they have both given an address about Eid.
However why not? As leaders they perhaps should mark important dates that are widely celebrated.
I don’t think either are appeasement to Muslims. A chance to encourage moderates perhaps. To perhaps show those at the begin8ngs of radicalisation that the rest of us aren’t all that bed.
