The Answerbank -V- Twitter
61 Answers
This question has puzzled me since reading a discussion between andy-hughes and douglas a few days ago. Not being a great fan of social media I know little about it so for those seeking discussion here rather than genuine answers to specific queries what’s the difference between The AnswerBank and Twitter? Pros and cons?

Why would that have any bearing on his Twitter account?
I’ve just checked on people who have fallen foul of Twitter’s more extreme moderation and those who could be described as right wing appear to feature heavily.

It doesn't directly have any bearing, I was using it as a comparative situation where the facts are not in dispute but their interpretation certainly is.
As to the list: well, it's still a matter for interpretation: are people who are right-wing more likely to get banned *because* they are right-wingers, or because there's something about the views extreme right that lends itself towards posting "hateful conduct", as defined by twitter?
But anyway. Mostly, as I say, you can get away with a great deal of abuse on Twitter as long as you direct it towards individuals rather than groups, and it certainly isn't a left-wing haven either. In any case, Twitter is about more than its political aspects: it would be like defining AB solely by the news section.
The main difference is that Twitter is bigger, and so more consequential to the real world.

In that case I’ve no idea what facts you’re talking about. Anjem Choudary, who's just served time at Her Majesty's pleasure for terror-related offences, has a Twitter account – and to describe his filthy rhetoric as unsavoury would be an enormous kindness. I’m not going to post it simply because I don’t believe AnswerBank should entertain such vile dialogue - but it’s there for anyone who wants to look. I suspect Twitter, in this respect. has its left-leaning head rather wonkily up its arrogant bottom.

Fact: Tommy Robinson was banned from Twitter.
(Wrong) Interpretation: victim of a left-wing conspiracy suppressing right-wing free speech.
Correct interpretation: Tommy Robinson broke Twitter rules by posting material seen as "hateful conduct", particularly with reference to Muslims.
Does that make it clear now?

He posted facts and was banned for posting those facts. Other not so infamous twitter users posted the same facts and we're not banned.
Clearly some people on this thread are posting about twitter who haven't really got a clue about it.
