On another thread I tentatively tried to imagine what the EU would do if we stayed a member.
I said something like:-
2021 - EU army or something like that.

Would you try to guess seriously what legislation we could expect if we remained, and be overruled if we objected?

Oh go on then, a few funny ones as well. You know you want to.

Plans for the EU army are well underway. In or out, Britain, wisely, will have nothing to do with it. It is yet another mad and dangerous idea. Imagine an army with its top-brass a mixture of vying officers of widely different countries and backgrounds (and languages) all under an unelected bureaucrat commander in chief, the likes J.C. Junker; a powerful position dreamed of, and unattained, even by Napoleon and Hitler

An EU army would not be compulsary, it would be something we could opt out of if we wanted to.
But we wouldn’t, we would be an enthusiastic member like we are of NATO.
The UK still have several battalions based on the Rhine, Antwerp and Westfalen, and we already cooperate closely with our european allies.
An EU Army, Excellent Idea, United we stand , Divided we fall . could not have won the last war on our own,

I’m imaging it. Sounds like NATO which has successfully operated for nearly 70 years.
not to hold any more demonstrations, about leaving, that is how i see the EU, to be told that any dissent will be dealt with severely. That we will have to ditch our way of life and adopt a more European one, including the Euro.
that our parliament will be dissolved we will only take directives from Brussels. That our leader overall will be as dictatorial as Stalin or Hitler, that Germany will conquer UK by stealth. The EUSSR is in control and there is nothing we can do about it.
we will go on and on propping up tin pot countries, and that Turkey will get it's wish to join the EU> leading to an open door policy in UK that will dilute our culture to the core.
if i sound barmy then wait and see what happens if the Brexit deal doesn't go ahead as planned.
Don't know, don't care. Purely hypothetical - we're leaving.

The last war that we and we alone were involved in resulted in a victory for us.
Think about it if you possibly can, gulliver.

We did get considerable help from the US to defeat Argentina.
all those soldiers must be turning in their graves at the idea of a United States of Europe, that wasn't what they signed up for in WW1 or WW2. It was as far as my history goes to keep up free, democratic and not under some Nazi jackboot.
P/P 10.31, " and we didn't win the war " Never said we did , read my post again. 09.42.

The combatants in the Falklands war were Argentina V UK.
Quite why you want to say anything different is your business.
Talbot ,10.22 That was a conflict, to wave the wave the Union Jack, and to keep you know who in power.
Try telling that to people who were there...you may just find yourself in a conflict.
I'm struggling to think who from the EU helped us win in WW2? Certainly not the French, Italians, Greeks, Spanish and as for Germany...
The French resistance played their part.
Of course and heroically but they were a small contingent after France had been overrun.
Pretty sure the Greeks did their bit to help us; so did the Poles, Danes, Norwegians, Belgians, Dutch, Czechs....
