Sadly, whenever discussing ethnic issues, I have to try and establish the fact that I am not a racist.
But of course, the phrase, " I am not a racist but .....", is an open invitation, for the politically correct, and "holier than thou, " brigade to strut their stuff, promoting themselves, and pushing down on honest posters like me.

So, "I am not a racist, " but that phrase should not prohibit me from discussing ethnically sensitive issues, which should not be sensitive at all, and we should be able to address the issues of African immigration by shouting from the rooftops, "Enough, no more, send them back!", without denigrating remarks from Liberal Lefties.

Theland - isn't there something in the bible about none so blind as those who will not see?

You are a living example of that - but it's not actually a good thing.
THELAND, you've not provided any figures, let alone accurate ones.

MR HUGHES does your exalted position on here give you the right to say that to Thelland
The Alan partridge of answerbank shame on you.
You are just getting sadder and sadder!
What is wrong with an ethnic minority reading your news? Or having coloured people in dramas.
With your extreme ill health would you refuse to be treated by a black doctor?
Do you know what I hate?
I hate those small Middle-eastern weather Gods who come over here with their long-haired unemployed sons taking jobs away from our indigenous 'natural' (i.e. 'of nature') god/esses.....
"Just look at the percentage of news reporters and ethnic minority actors in their dramas.
It's ridiculous and an insult to our intelligence."

What percentage is that then?

I don't have an 'exalted position on here' - I post my views the same as everyone else, and I am subject to the same rules as anyone else.

If you think my post is inappropriate, then report it, and the Editor will make a decision.

I am not above Site Rules as I have told you times without number.

Well excuse me MR HUGHES I thought that you being a founder member must have some clout in regards to what you can say without being pulled up.

Oh come on! I watch a lot of BBC news and dramas.
I don't care much about who does the reporting as long as the content is accurate, but I feel sorry for those excluded from these lucrative jobs because they are the wrong colour.
Jobs should be given on the basis of talent, regardless of ethnicity, unless in a drama a particular ethnicity is required for artistic reasons.
Sorry Theland you are losing the plot!
Who has been given a job on TV because of the colour of the skin rather than their talent?
Come on name them!
Me and sqad have got a thing about nagji agapati the news reader we don’t care what colour she is she is lovely-;)
THELAND, you can't back up any of your claims can you? How many hours' worth of news and drama programmes do you watch in a week?
If, every time, you see someone on the TV, in whatever capacity, and make an automatic assumption that it is solely their colour which put them there......then, I'm afraid, you are racist.

Rockrose - It is BBC policy to match the percentage of ethnic minority employees to match the percentage of the ethnic makeup of the whole population. That is currently a little over 13% but I think in some areas the BBC have exceeded this.
Investigate Tony Halls statements on his policies for inclusiveness.
It is just so wrong. Colour not talent.
Question Author
Thanks Jack, but you are wrong.
13% OK that's nothing but what evidence do you have that it is currently a higher % - other of course than your own bigoted views!
TBF I don't care who reads out my news - it could be a crossing dressing non binary personal relabelling as a woman that day - as long as I got the news!!
I rather think I'll let your words speak for themselves, Theland....
Jack the hat how do you and MR HUGHES get away with insults calling him a racist and answerbank answer to Alan partridge,it’s not on you both get away with things on here that others would be pulled up for,and before you say it I have reported you both,
Will it make any difference? Doubt it
Would anyone like some popcorn?

Got a big tub here.

The show may go on ;-/
