//Hazel Pulley, chief executive officer of the trust which runs the school, said some staff had lost weight and were not sleeping.//
Thinking back to my schooldays and my teachers I am certain that not one of them would have become so emotionally charged over any subject.A bit over the top IMO.
Did you ever have a baying mob outside your school?

No it's not Islamophobic to expect members of the Muslim faith to adhere to the law regarding hate speech.Or Christians to, or Jews, or,or, or...
It's fine to celebrate any culture or religion within the remit of the law, and anyone who knows me will tell you I am the first to stick up for anyone's rights but it has to be within that framework, and this patently is not.

/// No, nothing in the curriculum would have given rise to any sort of demonstration. ///
When I went to school and when we attended morning assembly and before Church of England prayers were said and hymns were sung, the headmaster announced "all other denominations please return to your class rooms".
The same thing happened when I was in the RAF, on the parade ground the Chaplin would announce all other faiths march off and face the wall.
I can never remember any demonstrations over these two examples.
