Calicogirl, why is 18 a special number in Judaism? That is not something I have heard before
Jim - "Same results?" An example?
Theland,
What gets me is that Christians will denounce numerology as an 'occult' science, but will quiet gladly pounce on it when it comes to the Bible...7ns in the Bible etc.
Never got that?
Not claiming magic with special power. Just a fingerprint of God. At least, as far as I understand.
Fingerprint of God as long as its in the Bible though eh?
This is a discussion after all.
Just another aspect of interest to me.
But I am prepared to concede I may be mistaken.
But not so far.
Question Author
Theland, do you believe in numerology?
The, "magic of numbers?" No.
//The, "magic of numbers?" No.//
But you do! You've posted about it...The 'magic' of 7s in the Bible. Shall I find the link?
3.1416 x 10 to the 17 is 314160000000000000 (vibe or take a zero or two) which is amazing not because the first 5 digits match pi but because of all the zeroes. And if they aren’t zeroes then it kind of knocks the theory back a bit. I think I’d want more than 4 digital places for my money.
If it came to 314159265358979323 then I might start getting edgy :-)
THELAND, in a previous thread you said pi was hidden in the Bible and I asked if you were relying on numerology. You replied,

"Corbyloon - Definitely not numerology."

Explain to me how allocating numerical values to letters of the alphabet and then working out the values of words, is "definitely not numerology".
My understanding is numerology is somehow equated with magic.
I don't go along with that .
It corrolates to 'Chai' the word for 'life' that in Hebrew is made up of two letters ח which has the number 8 and י which relates to 10, therefore the word for life has a value of 18, so to Jews 18 is 'life' the greatest gift that can be given. x

Except when its in the Bible??
You couldn't make this *** up!
Of course numerology is used in magick, including in the bible :/
Calico, dont you know that Bible magic is different from other magic?
;-)
I don't think I need to come up with an example. I am sure I could, if I had the energy and patience, generate whatever text I liked that could spit out pi to so many decimal places.

Hmm... I have a maths programme to create today, and maybe tomorrow (naturally, perhaps, depending), and it may disprove your claims. I'm unsure when I'll see patterns, but I'm hopeful. Specifics later!
Aye apparently Nailit, I was forgetting :) x
Calico - Magick in the Bible? Really? Where?
Silly girl Calico.
We all know that Bible magic is real and all other magic isn't?
