Atheists live by science, but science (always) changes. God and the Bible (always) remain the same. They know there is a God. He is revealed in creation, through His Word, and through Jesus Christ. Everybody knows that God is real, people just hate Him so much they suppress the truth.

Science changes only by becoming increasingly more detailed and generalised. When Einstein introduced Relativity all of Newton's Laws were incorporated as a special case where where the velocities were small compare to the speed of light. Gravitation was shown to be a form of acceleration.

Subatomic particles such as Protons, Neutrons and Electrons were shown to be the building blocks of atoms which were the building blocks of molecules. Then we discovered Quarks.

Some thought light was a particle, others thought it was wave. It proved to be both. Then Quantum Mechanics showed that absolutely everything is both a particle and a wave and things could pop in and out of existence at random.

Everyone thought the Earth was the centre, then they though the Sun and working up to Relativity where there is no absolute centre of the Universe.

The principle of Evolution has not changed one iota since its inception. Only the precise details of the lineages continue to be discovered as observations accumulate and increasingly sophisticated genetic analysis tools are developed.

Meanwhile religion remains stuck with the original daydreams of its founders and even threatens to kill anyone who dissents. Eternally quagmired in ignorance because it cannot develop. All causes attributed to the Will of God which explains nothing.

Only science gives us a detailed picture of why anything exists at all and how everything we see developed from a single pixel of pure amorphous energy as a consequence of a few simple laws not requiring the will of anything. Nor does it require the inexplicable disembodied preexistence of what would have to be the most complex thing ever.

There is no truth in religion, just ignorant, bigoted dogma.
The "peace" of religion consists of the destruction of all who will not conform to the doctrine.

This is evidenced by the Armageddon prophecies common to all the hideous Abrahamic faiths, where their particular flavour of dogma prevails and their deity slaughters all others.

Hitler also believed in peace through uniformity and destruction of all others. He learnt that from the Bible, which, along with the Torah and Qu'ran, are among the most disgusting books ever written.
Beso - you dress up your rubbish in a way that may fool some or many, but you are wrong.

Theland, you keep telling people they're wrong but never tell them why they're wrong. Saying God is responsible isn't sufficient when there's no evidence to support the existence of such an entity. It's simply irrational.
Then what is rational to you?
Theland, you're squirming out of it - or attempting to. If you want to be taken seriously you need to offer a rational argument.
Theland - // Beso - you dress up your rubbish in a way that may fool some or many, but you are wrong. //

More arrogance, and another in a never-ending serious of pot / kettle interfaces.
These discussions are boring because it's impossible for anyone on the side of religion to bring any reason or rational argument to the table. It literally is impossible for them.

Atheists offer no theory for a First Cause or the origin of information, but criticise believers who do.
// Atheists offer no theory for a First Cause or the origin of information, but criticise believers who do. //

Atheists present a theory when they have some information to suggest one, and then seek to test the theory.

Believers invent a complete solution with zero evidence to support it. That's what faith is by definition. Belief in something for which there is no evidence.
Plenty of evidence if you read my posts.
Point me to those particular posts Theland. I can't see any on this page and can't be bothered to look back through the thread.
As I said, it's boring.
Don't be bored Ludwig. Look for something that interests you.
Theland - // Atheists offer no theory for a First Cause or the origin of information, but criticise believers who do. //

As an atheist, I offer noting whatsoever in terms of the origins of the universe because I couldn't care less, and I suspect the ninety-nine percent of atheists feel the same way.

I only criticise believers who look down on me from an undeserved height of pompous superiority, and tell me I am 'wrong' - see a pattern here?
Andy this believer certainly does not look down on you or anybody else. Why should I? Why would I?
Theland - // Andy this believer certainly does not look down on you or anybody else. Why should I? Why would I? //

Loftily dismissing people's points of view as 'so wrong' as you have done on this thread, and many others, is looking down on them, which you do, on a regular basis.

Your entire point of entry into any debate about faith is that you are right, and anyone who argues with you is wrong.

Why should you and why would you adopt this attitude?

It's the arrogance of Christians, the more fervent they are, the more arrogant they are.

Is that clear enough for you?
I say, "so wrong," when somebody has tried to misrepresent my views.
Theland - // I say, "so wrong," when somebody has tried to misrepresent my views. //

No, you don't, you say "So wrong" and leave it at that - a blanket shut-down on another point of view, because you see yours as the only valid position.

If you want to say 'So wrong because I think this …' then do that, but you don't. Twice on this thread you have dismissed posters as 'wrong' with no counter argument.

At least own the responsibility of your arrogance.
Theland, //Plenty of evidence if you read my posts. //

I've been reading your posts for years and the best you've presented is speculation - and far fetched speculation at that.

//Atheists offer no theory for a First Cause //

That's because they are not so arrogant to claim they know. They don't. No one does. Not even you.
