An international comparison of social progress has been published

and the UK is perhaps not seen as a world leader. What stands out to me are the categories where the UK is ranked 20 or lower - these suggest things are not at all in the state usually perceived within the UK itself (i.e. as politicians put it and as the public believe it to be). I know that recently press freedom etc. in the UK was in 40th place (if I remember correctly) so being in 38th position for access to basic information..... I wait to see this comparison and its implications being discussed in the UK media.
