Sir Roger Scruton died today.
A sad loss to thought provoking philosophy, and the transcendent.

Well I hope he finds himself in a better place, as I do all those departed. But based on the video, if his main contribution is that religion needs to be kept because it offers a life crutch to those who can't find the support they need in family and community, for some reason, then it's been a rather weak viewpoint. Better to search for truth, and be a genuine friend to others, than join up to a group trusting in a shared faith.
