I'm considering buying a new machine and have found the following spec'd new build online for 499 (private sale);

1. P4 3.2Ghz processor,800-MHz, Hyper-Threading Technology,1Mb (1024Kb) L2 Cache,775 soket
2. GIGABYTE Motherboard---Intel 915P Chipset, Dual-Channel DDR400 ,
Gigabit LAN,8 USB 2.0, 8 Channel Audio
3. Brilliant GIGABYTE ATI RADEON RX600 PRO ,16x PCI Express,TV-Out And DVI
4. 3 ports Firewire
5. Latest PIONEER DVD Writer(16x, Dual Layer)
(Dual layer Technology,16x DVD +-R/RW,This drive can write up to 8.5Gb onto 1 DVD DISK,also can burn CD as well)
6. 400Gb Seagate HDD,Massive 8Mb Cache.(not 2Mb cache)
7. Samsung 512Mb DDR2 Ram (Top quality RAM)
8. 500W PSU (Dual FAN System,Fan)
9.Quality Tower Case

My question is; Is this too good to be true, or is it possible to put together such a machine and sell it for 499.

If there's no monitor, keyboard etc included this price would be plausible - though it's definately a good deal.

Also remember to add VAT if not already applied.

For a base unit the specs are very good. Warranty not included?

I would put in another 512 of ram, and you have a beast on your hands. enjoy.

as already mentioned, yes, without a monitor that is possible
