I asked a few days ago what would happen to the homeless if we had a lockdown.
Today the police have been going around my city centre, taking their sleeping bags etc off them and throwing them into a council refuse truck (the sleeping bags that is, not the homeless...before some wag makes a remark) and telling them to ''move on.''
Move on to where??
My bloods boiling. What are the homeless supposed to do?
Wait and see what transpires then?
In the meantime the homeless here havn't got a sleeping bag for the night.
I suppose a few cold nights will cure the homeless problem...
There are many sectors of society each with their own individual set of problems and all across the Country many are trying to come up with some solutions, let's hope it's soon.
I must agree that in the interim, to remove and dispose of people's sleeping bags in that way is heartless.
//You were whinging about prisoners last night//
Please show me where I was 'whinging' about prisoners?
I merely asked a question about how prisons were coping during the present crisis.
Please show me
a) where I whinged
b) where I said...or even suggested... that prisons should be emptied
Nailit, Mushrooms link is dated Saturday and therefore the decision was made before the press releases reached the newspapers. Things are necessarily moving swiftly with this nightmare situation so perhaps it is happening now.
Naomi, its my sons mate that managed to video it (Ive seen it) will try to contact him and get him to pass it on to the press. The police in question were complete ****'s, threatening to arrest the homeless for breach of the peace if they didnt move on. (like they could pay a fine anyway) All they were doing was sitting in a deserted city centre minding their own business.
Doesnt inspire confidence in the police :-(
