Thanks for the replies folks. All speculation. Might have, would have , could have etc. 'It's certain that death rates would have risen without lockdown'. How does anyone know that?
Mushroom mentioned a friend in ITU. I have a friend in ITU at St. Thomas' in London. He didn't treat Johnson, but was in that unit when his colleagues did. He has to change his facemask every 20 minutes because after that time, they are ineffective. Those are his words, not mine. It would appear that facemasks only serve a theraputic purpose, unless they're changed every 20 minutes. And are worn by attention seekers, of course.
The vast majority of people who have sadly died from CV-19 (95% according to PHE) either had one, or a combination of, heart disease, Type 1 diabetes or dementia.
If you are under 50 years old, you have more chance of being struck by a meteorite, than dying of CV-19.
The chances increase slightly as age increases.
I had to laugh yesterday when the daily figure for deaths was given at 36. Wrong words really. Not laugh, but see the irony of it. See how I tempt fate? But I have a reason for that low figure, straight out of the Matt Hancock Book of Press Conference Excuses.
The reason the figure was so low is because Doris from admin was given the weekend off, so the total figures haven't been submitted yet.
But the govt doesn't care about the economy, does it? We keep hearing that things will be difficult. There will be problems. But stuff it, we'll carry on anyway. Yer know, ruining the country.
The time will come when the govt has to make the decision that we are going to have to live with CV-19. Unless of course they want things to get even more difficult and problematical.
