Queen To Open Sandringham To Homeless!
47 Answers
NO! You won't see that headline, but a charity is asking for £28.22 to help the homeless, just as I was watching a programme about the Royals at Christmas.
Two hundred staff looking after their Christmas break, lots of Dubonnet and gin being drunk, and masses of food from Fortnum & Mason.
In a word, disgraceful.
The ballroom alone would house all of the homeless in the Capital.
But wouldn't it be a great gesture if the Royals came down out of their ivory towers and really helped real people with real problems.

It must be hard work dining with the Queen. Apparently she is a very quick eater. Once she has finished a course all the plates are removed, finished or not, and the next course brought. I can imagine some guests leaving hungry and having to call in at the chippy on the way back.
We have a head of state who is not really that ostentatious compared with many. I think she will be far happier with the old man and the small group of staff they have with them. I think things will change with Charles and then William to a more modern pared down version but after so many years of hard work let the woman have her luxuries it's fair payment for living your life as a matter of duty not of choice.
What they give is time which in terms of money raised and the morale of those at the coal face is immense although from a volunteer experience with Save the Children The princess Royal is quite hands on, as is the Duchess of Cornwall especially for the Osteoporosis society. It's like a plumber volunteering to mend taps for the needy, it's doing what you can with who and what you are. Having a senior Royal as patron ensures high profile contributors and bums on very expensive seats at fund raising events.
