Why is there no coordination between doctors, district nurses, Dougie Mac & at home care?
In this day and age of computer communication?

Ive spent my entire day cycling between the above due to the incompetence/inability to co-ordinate pain relief meds.
Visited Doctors 3 times (due to doctors misunderstanding the request of district nurses based upon the request of Dougie Mac...papers need signing etc)

Visited requested pharmacy 3 times to pick up script...only to be told that their suppliers dont stock it. First time it was the wrong script, second time it hadnt been delivered, third time, it was out of stock.

Eventually got refferred to Boots who had the supply....only to be told that they could only supply a days worth.

All this inbetween shopping for a few essentials & trying to comfort my dying mother in pain.
She's so out of it now (mentally) that she tried to eat a tea cloth earlier.

Care in the community?
What a load of ********

Gosh this is so sad Nailit , there's nothing I can say except you're an exceptional person xx
Dreadful when the system collapses around you and you are caught in the middle, all you want is peace to be with her right now.

Appriciate replies but the question still stands

Just dont get why so much running about and form filling?
The fact is Nailit that there should be joined up thinking.

In my case,we had a few hiccups but largely all worked together and to be honest - once the syringe driver began to work then the end was quiet and calm.

I just pray they can get that for your Mum.

My mum is now just a gibbering husk. A husk thats wracked with pain!

And still her family are left to run around (like we all have cars and time...we dont) to sort out the faults of those supposedly left to care for her?
it's because your mum is being prescribed heroin euivalent. They can't just dish it out without paperwork. When i was a mac nurse, we had a friendly pharmacist who would come and open up the shop at 2 am when we needed some unusual or desperately needed drug The police always used to come too
Nailit my Mum died when she was 67, my Dad was 79 and had remarried ( to a lovely lady and they lived in Anglesey)
While mourning the life if my parents, I've been spared what a lot go through, , I feel for you
Because no-one is prepared to stick money into decent technology for the NHS ( I cannot emphasize enough how much time I waste waiting for antiquated system to turn on and looking at the circle of doom) and there is a dogged determination to run every service from a different budget.
Because the NHS is a typical government run establishment, too much bureaucracy and over managed.
