2021 Census

I filled in the census on behalf of the 4 residents in my household and oversaw my elderly parents fill in theirs too. There were many questions my daughter wasn't asked that the rest of us were, for example religion, ethnicity, sexuality, transgender matters, qualifications etc. We went back but every time, these questions were skipped. However, I was able to submit the census, no problem. Did anyone experience this?

I don't know if it's relevant but she's 25 years old and a full time student.

It's not clear from your question - your daughter was completing an online census for her own household is that right?

Several questions were on the census that were optional to answer but should have been visible to you with the option to ignore and skip past to the next page.

I had some bits missing for boy #1, I presumed it was because he has to fill it in for himself at his uni house.

That's interesting sherrardk. I wasn't sure how it worked for students in those circumstances.

I had to include his term time address and then the personal bits were left out (gender, etc) but I had to show his relationship to the others in the house. I expect a lot of students aren’t at their uni addresses at the moment so they’ve maybe had to change things around a bit.

If students have been away from their Uni address would they have been able to receive their access code by post?

I don’t know but I suspect the majority of students have been at their home address since Christmas and for the foreseeable future. My son is only at his uni house because he’s on an exempt course.

Same here: We were asked more questions than son , but he did state he would normally be at his Uni address. He hasn't been there since last March though, so if any census stuff is there it will not get filled in and its a bit concerning really as its a legal requirement.

She didn't fill a census in herself.

We filled ours in as a household because that's who was there on the 21st march. Each member of the household answered their own questions obviously.
