Anyone believe they exist?

Got no real reason for asking other than I’ve been a bit bored n looking into info that shows on ancient Sumerian tablets pertaining to Enki and other “aliens”

// I can think of 4 - can you name the 5th?//

er the fifth dimension - - - I am missing something arent I ?
"Parallel Universes?"

If you postulate parallel universes then there could be an infinite number of universes in which we all could severally exist with every alternative in our lives taking a different path. The mind boggles.

I might just be being born an infinite number of times in an infinite number of other universes in a completely different time & environment
and it still begs the question - if there are aliens here, why no obvious contact?
If they've been here, we must not be very tasty.

Do you not watch Star Trek? Prime Directive? :-)

"The Prime Directive applies particularly to civilizations which are below a certain threshold of technological, scientific and cultural development; preventing starship crews from using their superior technology to impose their own values or ideals on them."
I don't believe in them any more than I believe in a god. No reason to, unless someone can prove otherwise.
Mibs, //If they've been here, we must not be very tasty.//

They loved a lamb/goat bbq.
There is undoubtedly life elsewhere in the universe. I don't think it's visited us though. Surely it would have at least said hello if it had, rather than just enigmatically floating around and perplexing USAF pilots every now and then.
There's one or two of them on AB; no names, no pack-drill.
//Surely it would have at least said hello if it had//

I think it likely that it did .... thousands of years ago.
I am always intrigued by the notion that 'aliens' must of course have a physical form, because we do.

What if they are simply beams of light with no physical form, and therefore nothing to prevent them from travelling from one end of the universe to another in a nanosecond.

It is perfectly possible that aliens have, and do visit us, but leave no sign of their presence, and never have, and never will.

I find that far easier to believe than the popular notion that aliens must visit other planets via a 'ship' because at the moment, that is what we would have to do.

It's always interesting to observe how the prevailing thoughts at any one time come to be disproved - we were supposed to be teleporting by now, and waited on by robots, if we fulfilled the notions that people in the sixties had for us.

Similarly - films like Jurassic Park perpetuate the notion that all dinosaurs were shades of grey and roared a lot.

What if they were covered in rainbow shades of felt and squeaked like mice?

We remain in ignorance, - maybe our visitors prefer us that way.

In 60 years of space flight, humans have managed to land on the Moon, send probes to several planets, even had one probe leave our solar system. What might happen in a thousand or a million years? Other than we wipe ourselves off the planet in a nuclear catastrophe.

drmorgans - // What might happen in a thousand or a million years? //

Indeed.

We may well have shed the shackles of physical form, and simply be energy that roams the universe at will, and finds billions of other species who have done exactly the same thing since the universe came into existence.
drmorgans. //What might happen in a thousand or a million years?//

Now you're talking.
They loved a lamb/goat bbq.

Freshly roasted Lamb of God . . . that would 'splain some things.
" from one end of the universe to another in a nanosecond."

er - doesn't light take billions of years to cross the universe?
Black Holes, Worm Holes, Star Gates? who knows what 'the others' use for transportaion.
Fascinated me watching 'Ancient Aliens' old and new episodes I remember reading Eric Von Daniken as a young fella got me gripped but some stuff on the TV are even a little too far off to think really, you're grasping. I believe they're out there, coming back who knows.

I quoted Arthur C. Clarke before on this subject which is so true if you think about it...

[i] Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not...
... Both are equally terrifying [i]
good to see tech team are the same as always helping the site... I dismay.
I am intrigued by the mysteries of the universe and saddened that I will not live to see more uncovered. As for wormholes - I'm going to get a chemical to treat those!
