Who Are Your Personal Heroes And Why?

Who do you consider as a true hero? It can be your family, friends, celebrities, fictional characters (etc). And what about them makes you feel like that?

Mine is family. I don't hero worship people I don't know in person.

For instance I love Pink Floyd and admire them but I wouldn't see them as hero's. They haven't taught me anything.

My hero all through my childhood and up until day he died too soon was my Dad, I was his little shadow.

Oh yes easy. My Dad. Ex P.OW. on the Burma Death Railway, certainly had a glimpse of hell for several years, weighed only 5 1/2 stone when released in 1945, but came back with his dignity, his humanity, married my Mum and raised three kids teaching us the most important values.
Yes, Dad is still my hero.
