Out and about today (walking, bus, train and ferry) I noticed quite a lot of face masks amongst the elderly, but the young mainly ignoring the advice. There are exceptions obviously.
"Oh, when will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn?" (Peter Seeger)
The new Health Secretary said that we should start living with it and get back to normal. That was the advice I heard when he took office a few weeks ago and I assume that's what people are doing. What other advice was there?
stop it with the cherry picking BS, all the figures are heading down. Of course covid is still here but the fact that most of the public are vaccinated means it has minimal impact.

fewer deaths and hospitalisations. What's your problem canary? don't you want things to get better?
Get used to it, it's going to be around for a long time. Another thing, it's time we stopped testing and counting infections, hospitalisations and deaths. What is the point? Nearly 90% of us have been double jabbed so let's all get on with our lives and stop worrying about it.
"Out and about today (walking, bus, train and ferry) I noticed quite a lot of face masks amongst the elderly, but the young mainly ignoring the advice. " - I'm looking forward to when people finally realise the futility of masks and cast them off. Apart from the proper medical ones masks are pointless, they just have a mental effect. end of.
TTT, I said that 18 months ago. They're just theraputic and serve no other purpose. Despite telling people that I was told that by 2 nurses who work in the ITU at St Thomas' in London, lots of users thought I was making it up. They probably still think that.
Personally, I couldn't give a stuff if others are wearing a mask or not. I certainly don't unless I have to (the GP for instance), but if other people feel safer by wearing one, good luck to them.
I went for a blood sample at the hospital - they are doing them in a separate building with 10 minute appointments instead of the usual queuing - and the receptionist made me put on a mask & clean my hands before I went in. Just saying.
He was convicted in a jury trial of contempt of Congress in March 1961, and sentenced to ten one-year terms in jail (to be served simultaneously), but in May 1962, an appeals court ruled the indictment to be flawed and overturned his conviction (Seeger)
A lot better than Russia which despite being one of the first countries to vaccinate is seeing record daily deaths. There are roughly half a million people across the country receiving treatment and it’s likely that over half a million have died.
Why so bad?
Well it seems there is mass scepticism about the vaccine and very poor take up combined with government reluctance to impose any more restrictions.
Somewhat ironic given government-sponsored trolls have been promoting scare stories about our vaccines partly it’s thought to encourage purchase of its own,
Seems there’s plenty of it to spare …
Davebro. What's your point? I had to wear a mask when I went for a CAT scan last weekend. I've got no issue wearing one when in a location that requests it. Just outside I don't bother.
