No Character In Parliament Anymore
39 Answers
People like Skinner, Hestltine ,Ann Widdicombe all had their nicknames
The Beast of Bolsover
Tarzan
Doris Karloff
But they were feisty characters to watch whether we liked them or not
Now with Boris on the way out ( sad to see ) because he too is a character, it’ll be Dullsville with KS and Lord Snooty ( JRM)

I like how cutting Emily Thornberry can be too at times.
Despite being apolitical I’d say that atm the opposition benches seem to have a few decent bods whilst anyone associated with the current government/cabinet seen either uncaring, smarmy or aloof, except Dorries, who must even wonder sometimes to herself how on this earth she got to the lofty position of Secretary of State with a title that has the word ‘culture’ in it?

give me competence and sound judgement over "character" any day of the week...
politicians are not there to entertain us, they are there to make decisions about how this country is governed and how it behaves on the world stage... why are people especially on the right so obsessed with charisma and personalities? It's like they are desperate to follow someone!

//Sunak and Truss are the epitome of bland.//
Right now I’d take bland. I just wanted it prefaced with honest, competent, relatable(ok difficult I know) and trustworthy.
They had it with Tugendhat.
I agree with the rest of your post, anyone with even a vague association with Johnson just simply will not do.
Truss is even willing to try and stop the PSC into investigating him, which tells you everything.

Pleased? No, not particularly Ken , I’m a Boris supporter but his position was untenable with the knives in his back , I have said it was time for him to go as they had him backed into a corner, even those in his own party,he’s done a lot wrong like not sacking Cummings but he’s got us through a terrible pandemic ,
Lol, no knives in his back, nobody plotted against him.
He brought about his own downfall the way he has throughout his life: perpetual lying, it was always going to finish him and always will in all facets of life, it’s who he is, it’s what he does.
A narcissist who changes the rules to suit his own agenda or lies about what really occurred, it’s as simple as that, nothing more.
Adultery or lying were always going to be the two constants in his life that would prove ultimately fatal for whatever job he does.
