With fuel and the cost of living crisis, do we continue with overseas aid to places like Ethiopia, Nigeria, Somalia, Afghanistan and Yemen, , the money going to Afghanistan is going straight to the Taliban isn’t it?
We send money to India yet they have a Space programme ?
I have no link,it’s not News, and I’m not sure what category this should be in so I’ve put it in S&C as there’ll be no Ed(s) to move it till Monday

Well, charity certainly doesn't begin at home!

Even if it’s a temporary measure ,isn’t it time to stop it ?
they don't hand money to India

"Since 2015, the UK has given no financial aid to the Government of India. Instead, our development partnership with India is based on sharing skills, expertise, and development capital investments that help the poor and generate returns on our investment; our work reduces poverty, tackles climate change, and creates new partners and markets for the UK. To date £80.2 million of our ODA investment has been returned to HMG."

We're the good guys, we try and help the needy. We have no say on what their governments spend their money on once obtained.

Seems a bit familiar don't you think.

It’s money we could dearly do without giving right now, that’s India …..what about what Afghanistan is getting from us?
none of it goes to the Taliban, it's for NGOs providing food, water, health facilities etc.

In a corrupt country like Afghanistan? Sorry jno I don’t buy that
The country is spending skywards of £5m a day housing immigrants, the vast majority of whom are men of fighting age, in hotels and Lord knows how much sending Border Force out to rescue the poor darlings and ensure they reach our shores daily to board the buses we have laid on for their comfortable transport to their new free accommodation. I'm sure that money would be better spent sending the Navy into the channel to blow their stupid inflatables up and stop them coming! Then we could spend the money on keeping the tax payers, needy and vulnerable people of this country warm and fed during these times of immense and widespread hardship.
You're wise not to buy that, Bobbi.

The cost of caring for asylum seekers reached 2billion pounds today Lcg
My blood boils thinking about it, Bobbi.
Question Author
Then France having the gall to ask us for €110 million ‘ we owe them’
Well they're obviously not earning the money we've been chucking at them thus far!

We should stop paying them and send the Navy out to protect our waters instead.

To be honest I wish Boris was still at the helm
You and me both. :-(

I hope to God Fishy Rishi isn't our next PM.
Question Author
I don’t like either of them to be honest
Truss is no MT, but is the lesser of two evils.

We had a perfectly good PM who got us through a pandemic with an exemplary vaccine-rollout and led Europe in it's response to Putin's aggression against Ukraine. That silly Herbert in Germany wasn't going to do a damn thing until Bo-Jo shamed him.

I think the back stabbers in Parliament will live to regret what they’ve done
