Gambling Addiction

I think I read somewhere recently that one person a week commits suicide in the UK over their gambling debts.

If the company I worked for was selling a product or service that resulted in such harm to their clients – I’m sure that they would be shut down pronto.
But what with our MPs receiving massive bungs from the gambling industry, that ain’t going to happen anytime soon.

Coroner’s have considerable power in relation to the cause of death (and to stop similar deaths) – if as a coroner, it was clear that gambling debts and the way the deceased was treated by the betting firm, were responsible for the death – I would mandate that the betting firm take corrective action to stop any future such deaths.

Despite the gambling firms giving MPs bungs to stop any further regulation – the writing is on the wall (much like mobile phone roaming charges for people within the EU). If I were a betting company, my TV adverts would be modified to say something like ‘someone wins every 20 seconds on Jackpot Joe, and 100 people lose every second.’

Such a change in advertising my go some way to placating gambling firm critics, but I doubt it would change the habits of gamblers.

Just in case you are starting to feel sorry for the gambling industry, read this:-

How to make a small fortune on the horses ....
Start off with a large fortune
davebro: "my gambling friend (as mentioned above) lost £1600 on Remain - even though he voted Leave! " - well he won then!
Aye - Remain lost simply due to the complacency of Remain supporters. Then they have the cheek to blame Leavers for voting their conscience.
How much will you win on Boris Johnson winning the General Election for the Tories ?
bhg, bookies do go bust, not very often but it does happen

High street gambling outlets have closed in their thousands but of course it has flourished online. Nothing like being able to lose money 24/7 from the comfort of your armchair or bed
Remain lost because no one could tell us why we should remain, still can't. All they ever did/do is get themselves into a lather over project fear. In all the time we've been playing this game I can't remember a single case of a remoaner giving me a single reason to remain. It was all project fear, that was their only tactic and that back fired spectacularly.
^^^^ how to grow a pear!

TTT has finally completely lost his marbles – ‘that no one could tell us why we should remain’.

No wonder he still supports Boris.
I know it's raking over old ashes but if the EU had offered Cameron the tiniest of concessions & the remainers hadn't been so complacent...

Still UKIP & Sir Nigel would then have gone from strength to strength & you wouldn't have wanted that would you!

Gambling addiction is a real thing, and it's a serious problem. People with gambling addictions can lose huge sums of money, damage their relationships, and even ruin their careers.

There are two main problems with gambling addiction. First, people with gambling addictions tend to be very impulsive. They're not able to control their urges to gamble, even when they know the consequences could be disastrous. Second, people with gambling addictions often develop a tolerance to the thrill of gambling. They need to gamble more and more frequently in order to get the same high they used to feel.

But despite how dangerous this addiction is, with competent and safe gaming, there will be no problems. therefore, I recommend that you analyze your actions coldly. in this case, I recommend that you play demo versions of games here https://slotogate.com/free-casino-games/, and only then use real money.

Sometimes I think to try my hand at gambling, but articles like this make me think. Gaming addiction is the last thing I want to get.

I totally feel you on the whole gambling addiction issue. It's super sad to see how it can lead to such terrible outcomes. You're right, if any other company caused harm like this, they'd definitely face some serious consequences. It's frustrating when MPs seem to have ties to the gambling industry, making it harder to enforce stricter regulations. But hey, maybe coroners can make a difference and help prevent similar deaths. Betting firms really need to step up and take responsibility by implementing some corrective actions. Maybe being more transparent in their advertising could address some of the concerns. Btw, have you checked out the college football betting splits ( https://www.streakforthecash.com/college-football/consensus-picks )? By the way, I'm new here, so it's awesome to be a part of this forum.

What can I say? Gambling addiction is a serious issue, and it's concerning to hear about the impact it can have on people's lives.
