I just went to fetch the bin back in and got talking to our new NDNs. They asked about the people in the street and I mentioned about the socially distanced drinks during COVID and the get together to mark the late Queen's Jubilee.
I have said that we will likely all get together on someone's driveway to toast King Charles III for the coronation and they seemed quite pleased to hear that.
Will you have a street party or perhaps a private party? Or will you just watch it on the TV or not bother full stop? I think it's nice to do something personally and I look forward to seeing the bunting out on the street.
We will have some sort of village (well, hamlet) do like we did for the Jubilee. We got very drunk, in the rain, in a gazebo by the pond.
I was asked before Christmas if we would offer our garden, but I have declined. Mainly because if it rains, people will be trapsing in and out for the loo and the place will end up in a bigger mess than it already is.
Haven't heard of anything yet but I will have to go and have a look at the village notice board. I think the Methodist church held a tea party for the over 60's and so did the local church.
Yes definitely and I’m the one already organising it , we’ve a street full of lovely people willing to have some fun on May6th , strange that postie has just delivered a whole lot of flags and bunting than I see your post :0)))
I vaguely remember Princess Diana's wedding. I was four and a half years old. I remember William's birth too and we all made cards in our class but mine didn't get sent and my teacher found it in my little cubby hole a couple of weeks later.
Minty, I might make a cake for this coronation...
Wotcher, Bobbi. I just knew you'd be organising something.
