Name Of This Film Please?

I can't quite remember the details of the film but there's a scene which will hopefully jog someone's memory.
I'm fairly sure it's set in the USA(?) and the guy is a gangster and he's bragging to someone about how he's stayed in countless motels. He puts a sign on the door for the maid to clean the room. He then lies naked on the bed and puts some money over his "bits" and waits for the maid. He brags about how many times this has worked and the maid accepts the payment for her "services".
However, it backfires because some other gangsters storm his room whilst he's lying naked waiting for the maid and I'm fairly sure they shoot him.
Anyone know which film this scene is from please?

I can picture the scene, but I can't picture the actor and it's doing my head in ....

No sorry I think I was having a glass or two of wine when we were watching it. Mr Dp can't remember it at all.

To be honest, I thought someone on here would have known it cos I'm fairly sure it's quite a well known film and I'm guessing it's within the last 20 years or so.
