//Ms Jones, who calls herself an "outdoor enthusiast and hunter", was filmed picking up the joey by the road and running across it to a car, while its mother ran after them.

The man filming can be heard laughing: "Look at the mother, it's chasing after her!" The video, which was filmed in Australia, has since been deleted.

[She] then placed the vulnerable baby back onto a country road - potentially putting it at risk of becoming roadkill," it noted in its statement, adding that it remains unclear if the joey reunited with its mother.//

There are only two creatures in this story.  That arrogant ignoramus of a woman and the moron who laughed as he filmed the whole thing.  What is wrong withn these people?

The allure of social media "likes" seems to be the sad answer to your question.

Apparently, she has done this with other animals, too.

She ought to be deported...and hopefully she will be.

There are a whole generation of people who live their entire life out on social media, they cannot make decision or do a simple task without showing 'their fans'

I despair.

She might end up the same way as several other 'influencers' - dead from taking selfies in very dangerous places.

This isn't a 'task' though.  This is an act of blatant stupidity.

One hears of poachers/hunters with their rack of spotlights on their pickup trucks, I wonder if they'd be interested in the lesser spotted nutjobs?

sounds like a right nasty brainless bee hatch.
