Being rich is relative. A person may not think he is rich but compared to millions in the world who struggle to live from day to day, he is. The World Bank defines extreme poverty as living on less than a dollar a day (about 55 pence) and poverty as less than three dollars a day or 1.65. In the eyes of the person in extreme poverty, to be in poverty would be an ambition......

Few people, regardless of them amount of money they have, regard themselves as rich enough.

We always want more!

The richest person is the one contented with his or her lot.
You can answer this objectively or subjectively - in other words, there is no real answer!
I agree that 'rich' is a very subjective term. However, there is an objective test (under a rather obscure piece of financial services secondary legislation) for determining whether or not someone is a 'high net worth individual'. They must either have an annual income of 100k or more or have net assets worth at least 250k (excluding their primary residence, insurance contracts and pension benefits).
Well said Ethel. Contentment should be enough but unfortunately we all think that money will somehow or other improve the situation. Wrong.
