For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Hi pitstop,Why not find out if there's a centre or club your local aged go to, these places are always looking out for helpers, I go one a week to one locally. all I do is help with their dinners, (cutting the food into portions for the ones that can't manage), talking to them, making them laugh. its very rewarding,

Our local Volunteer Bureau tells me that one of their main requests is for befrienders - just to go to someone's house a couple of times a month, have a cup of tea and a chat. I know several people who would love to have more contact with the outside world.
Another one is mentally bright but physically frail, living in an old folk's home where most of the residents are suffering from some form of dementia. The chance of a conversation is all she requires. You get the idea, you don't need any more skills than a liking for tea and a willing ear to be very welcome, in very many places.
