Hi pitstop,
I just looked it up.
I may be at odds with you here, and maybe others, but there seems little doubt that a murder was committed, and as i'm an advocate of bringing Capitol Punishment back over here, I think that both should be executed if guilty, and again, there seems little doubt on that.

Yes a crime, was committed but Delara was under the age that a death penalty could be passed on at the time
Thats true, and I apologise on that part, and didn't really give it much thought, her sentance should really be commuted.
Can't remember the name of the case, but I saw a documentary last year on a similar case and the girl was actually hung (hanged?) in the end, from a crane I believe. She, too, was under the age to be convicted of murder at the time and in a very similar case. In fact, I would have said it was the sam case had I not seen the date.

Of course, I do hope Delara will be vindicated, but I feel more strongly about the government and the fact that she is even in this position in the first place.

It seems absolutely ludicrous. I know we are "lucky" to have a more "civilised" society, which indeed we do, no matter your personal opinion on British government, but I would like to see more done towards preventing this recurring in future than trying to save a young woman who should not be in that position in the first place, as I said before I am certain I saw an almost exact case on TV within the past year.

I think the girl that you are talking about was Atefah Sahaaleh.

I think this is the link to a copy of the BBC program that you watched, showing what happened.
