Sick of NEDS in Glasgow
16 Answers
I've lived in Glasgow all my life (29) and have been plagued with these really annoying quite frankly and utterly rude group of low lives.
I'm now really wondering whether living here anylonger and wish to move to a quieter area.
Do you have any or have in the past experienced what i'm talking about?

I had to look it up as well!! a Scottish chav by the looks of it!!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_%28Scottish%2 9
Unfortunately ned culture seems to have spread throughout scotland now - certainly in the towns. I have to say that the area I live in is relatively ned free, but you have to pay for it, and if you head into town you will come across the usual gatherings outside macdonalds and argos! Originally being from the large city the east of the central belt, i automatically think that the large city in the west of the central belt is worse, but I am sure that it is just the change of accent and my inbuilt prejudice!
Also, if you want some example of neddery, look at this thread:

Yeah i really do wish they would just grow up and take life more seriously instead of damaging property that they will never own in thier pathetic life.
I'm thinking of moving to Stirling, it has its fair share of trouble too like most places but its not as concentrated.
There was a classic Ned on th etrian this morning and he disrupted the whole train with playing happy hardcore music on the loud speaker of his phone and i felt like turnin round and telling him how stupid he looked but i knew that i'd get a barrel load of abuse so whats the point

Sounds like you have a superiority complex. You'd be more than made welcome over in Edinburgh! At least in Auld Reekie there's no catholic / prodestant mentality, we're all just laid back and equal. UEFA and the SFA are making inroads in tackling that particular problem though, it has to be said. And in Edinburgh, Buckfast is drunk by ordinary young folk, I don't know why it makes our west coast counterparts behave like idiots, perhaps it's your poor breeding....
I suppose i do have a superiority complex, i am better than these turkeys!! haha
Anyway its not just the neds, you walk down any street in glasgow city centre and all you see is puke, chip shop grease, kebabs and stuff i'd rather not say. When you can no longer be proud of where you stay i think it is time to move on like you say.
I stayed in South Africa for 3 months with family over Christmas 2006 and i guess thats where all this has come from, you couldnt meet a nicer bunch of people and all that stuff about it not being safe is just not true.
Theres more racial tension between the asian and black community now and the white people are left alone to get on with it.
I'd love to see a ned try and be smart in Durban beach front lol the Police would just feed him to the sharks with no concequence lol.
