Enough has been said about the McCann case above. Apart from yellow ribbons and posters, free media attention, celebrity patronage and free loan of a friend of mines jet to go to Rome - where exactly is the money going? Concert for Maddy perhaps?
The Cutty Sark was a nice little treasure to visit on schooldays and on Sunday afternoons. But it was just a boat, a vessel that carried tea for goodness sake. Hardly of any particular national importance. It was important enough though to have been given 25million of lottery money to refurbish, and with the patronage of prince Chazza, I am sure the cutty fund isnt short of a bob or two without any further 'donations'. I even hear that there is going to be a fund raising concert.
Again media tells us that we should care and the nation start believing it, its absurd.

No to both . Mostly same reasons as previously posted but also, I actually find the McCann's behaviour somewhat bizarre.
God forbid that I should ever find myself in the same or similar position but I know that I couldn't conduct myself in the way that they have chosen.
The thought of losing either of my children through fault of my own would reduce me to a guilt ridden pile of uselessness. Indeed, if it wasn't my fault, I would still be in that state.
Whilst it may appear admirable that they can continue in this way, I'm afraid I really do find it quite odd.

No - However, I have forwarded on posters, etc., by email, in the hope that little Maddie might be found (although I would be very surprised, but overjoyed if she is). Sadly, there are lots of children worldwide, who go missing every day, but do not get the media attention & coverage the McCann's have had. God bless Maddie.
No - although the Cutty Sark is/was a magnificant ship, it is fully insured - or should have been anyway!
We donate to lots of charities, including, The British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research & Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children - very close to my heart.
Apart from those, we will also donate to Monkey World :

while I feel sorry for the circumstances that the McCann's find themselves in (foreign country, different policing styles etc), I agree with a lot of the sentiments already posted here - what would more money do that 2million already pledged can't do? Why is this missing child getting any more attention than any other missing child in the UK? I feel that the UK public are in danger of being saturated and the current sympathy turning to apathy.
Cutty Sark? that's why you pay insurance.
