Yes Christmas Day is a public holiday, but not a bank holiday in England and Wales.

Curiously it is a bank holiday in Scotland

I dont think CD is classed as bank holiday as a rule, its always a holiday but not a bank holiday? i think
for instance boxing day is always a bank holiday and new years day,

Not to mention the fact that Boxing Day is supposed to be the term used for the Monday following Christmas Day...not the day after Christmas Day.

Just to clear up the other two, the M25 starts at Dartford and ends at Thurrock. It does not cross the Thames there.

The road that crosses the Thames is the A282, which is not motorway class
