Why do Chavs have a lack of respect for anybody or anything?

This can be walking down the road and spitting on cars.
Walking down the road at night and shouting for no reason.
Calling an elderly gentleman an old **** because he said excuse me to get past some of them.
Having children in pushchairs in a pub at 9pm (shows a lack of respect to the child who should be in bed).
Dropping litter (McCrappy wrappers when they were a couple of feet from the bin).
Abusing passers-by.
I have seen all of the above and much much much more, and am genuinely interested as to why they appear to hate everybody and everything.
And it doesn't appear to be an age thing - every example above was by people in their twenties and above - so it can't be blamed on kids.

For all those wishing to blame poor parenting.........take your argument to its logical conclusion.........
1. My child is a delinquent because I am a bad parent.
2. I am a bad parent because my parents were bad parents.
3. My parents were bad parents because..............I think you've got the hang of this now.
But, *hold on* that <can't be true............. because as those of an older generation delight in telling us 'in my day you could leave your door open blah, blah, blah' and 'we didn't have all these feral kids, blah, blah, blah'.
Perhaps those pointing their fingers haven't recognised the remaining four pointing back !!

If the parents don't set standards the children have nothing to follow . Parents don't seem to worry about their 11 year old being on the streets late at night , but if anything happens to the child whose fault is it ?? They will blame everyone but themselves . As most of the parents are foul mouthed it's no wonder the off spring swear . The parents think it's funny to hear a toddler swear . Litter bins were invented to be set a light , not for rubbish to put in , no Chav would put a McD wrapper in one as be would lose his street cred , they are bullies and if some one stands up to them they pull a knife .I have no time for them and the so called icons they look up to are no better ,they are in the papers every day flashing there knickers or falling out of a taxi drunk .
I agree, thay are little swines BUT, Teddy boys i remember were like that, flick knives, fighting, then there was the Mods and the Rockers, surly you have heard of the bank holiday fights at Brighton. Then there were the Punks and the Mods yet again, then we had the Skinheads, the Rude boys, then came the Sportwear footie violence people (original chavs) are you seeing a patern yet? I might not be able to spell all that gud but at least i can see further than the end of my nose.

Octavius - I would have thought it was far more degrading to the "poorer classes" to suggest that they are all automatically included in flip_flop's perfectly understandable derision of chavs. There are plenty of less well-off people in this country who do not resort to the unpleasant chip-on-shoulder tactics of these individuals, and would probably find it very insulting to be lumped in with them.
Besides, neither poverty nor anything else is an excuse for an anti-social attitude and threatening demeanour. It is this attitude that has caused the derision, not the other way around.

When you stereotype people as flip flop has done, then you can only expect them to behave in the way one would expect. �I�m a chav, what else do you expect?� Had flip flop said youth�s, yobs or ruffians and rogues then general opinion may have differed slightly.

I am saying that if you pigeon hole people, then by that very nature you stereotype their actions, fashion and outlook on life. You mention �chav� as a demographic intent on being the sole perpetrator of daily disrespect and callousness towards the �decent majority� (presume you have slotted yourself nicely with in that category).
