South Coast of Wales

Hi all - we are spending next week in South Wales 2 nights in Cardiff, 2 in Pembroke and 2 in Brecon Beacons. Can anyone recommend any 'must not miss' places to visit? Young Master Hellion is a big Dr Who fan (hence Cardiff) does anyone happen to know where they might be filming next week? That would make his life!!!
Good places to eat would be welcome too.
TIA x

If it is a clear day the view are very good. If you are with kids though register yourself with the rescue centre and make sure you tick yourself of the register once safely returned,
Also don't dig up any things that look like mole hills. They are more than likely some squaddies poo dump. Not nice.

when you are in cardiff, find Howells, the department store, the St Mary Street side, look at the bottom window frames and you will see the name james howell and son pronted into it, in one episode, david Tennant was supposed to be in london, but he was standing right infront of the window and I clearly saw the name!!! (I worked there in the 1970/s early 80s.)
Of you get chance go to Ogmore By Sea, the best most unspoilt beach you may ever find in the UK.

St Fagans is a really good day Out (Free Entry - 2.50 car parking) theres also a Doctor Who exhibition down Cardiff Bay, (in the Red Dragon Radio Building) its quality as opposed to Quantity but really good - my current Wallpaper on the work PC is the Dalek (which incidentally is quite frightening when you press the "exterminate" button ? took my 7 year old daughter down there and she loved it.
Thanks for your answers folks, this was exactly the sort of info I was looking for. We don't like the obviously touristy places, we want to see what the locals think is worth seeing!
I have climbed Pen y fan in the past Wardy - as well as canoeing across Lake Langorse, all without the aid of being in the SAS. I'll bear in mind your useful tip about molehills though lol!

Hi H - suggest in Pembroke coast aim for manorbier - castle, nice beach, great pub and good choice b& Bs too for a stay.
Further round is St Davids - cathedral, seal spotting trips and friendly locals.
Day at the beach - go to Pendine - acres of it there. Also , maybe Saundersfoot or Tenby for a 'trips round the bay' sort of break too. All v. nice.......

Hi H - glad to help. Had family hols there in distant youth and always remember them. I was in Manorbier a couple of years ago too for a re-visit and it is stil as nice.....
http://www.pendineonline.org is the site with local info before you go inc. a whats on page, and if Mr H wants to read all about it - Babs is at the Museum of Speed at Pendine village, now dug up and restored. Some other info here: http://www.speedace.info/parry_thomas.htm to keep him happy if you want to show off...has a pic too...!
Also have a look at he activities page at http://www.stdavids.co.uk/ which is for StDavids - bunch of info there - try some sheepdog training, whale watching, seal spotting, jet boats etc etc and some wonderful scenery too. Got some pretty good restaurants in the town as well, so something for everyone there.
Have a peachy time...

this place http://www.swcc.org.uk/cottage/cottage.php was a location in episode 6 of torchwood - if you're passing (it's only minutes from the Swansea-Brecon road, in fabulous country) it might be worth a few minutes of your time.
