I bought a doll from a Lady in Ahrensburg, Germany for $649.00

My name is Kathleen Lawler. I was on the internet trying to find out who to
contact. I purchased a doll for my daughter. She put the money in my
account to pay for the doll. This Doll was bought through Ebay. We paid
$649.00 (American). The women told me that the doll was lost in the mail
then found. She said, it will be mailed again June 2nd 2007. We have never
recieved the doll. She will not answer our Emails. I will include some of
our emails. My daughter got in so much trouble from her husband. And he was
mad at me for getting her caught up in it. They both work and have 3 kids.
I can not get the money back from Paypal , that is the way the doll was
paid for. My credit card and bank imformation is used by them to pay for
purchases. Ebay said I had to file a complaint within 45 days. Well I
believed in her and trusted her. There was good comunication until the 45
days were up. I truely felt for someone to make such a beautiful doll they
had to be beautiful on the inside. Maybe she was in a wreck or something I
don't know. . My hands are tied here in USA Ebay said I get no money from them because I waited over 45 days. Can you tell me who to contact in Ahrensburg to ask her about the money or doll. I looked for her phone number there was none. Thank you so much. I bought it April 29 th 2007 Paid May 3rd I have proof of payment to her bank

Sounds like this was a fraudulent sale and the 'seller' fobbed you off with a story until the 45 days were up, knowing the PayPal time limit.

But isn't there some Law enforment in Ahrensburg, Germany to confront her about the theft of $649.00 or is there some internet law to deal with people that defraud over the internet. This lady has a good reputation with ebay I truely can't believe she did it. I wonder if she died or something. Or maybe she got in a bind I could wait on another doll. But Like I said I am in USA and have no way of contacting her. I do have her address tho. but no phone number

I know nothing of US law, but in the UK some credit card companies will act in these situations.

Contact your credit card company straight away and explain the circumstances.

Thank you for your answer, But I have my bank account and credit card listed with ebays Paypal . I used my bank account because my daughter put the money in my bank account to pay for the doll. Thank you Kathy P. S. Banks do not cover cost like credit card companies do. I thought it was OK because I used paypal. Paypal said you CAN file against them with in 45 days. They didn't say you HAD to file within 45 days My mistake. So my buyers protection is not covered so I got a, I'm sorry from paypal.

It might be worth trying an e-mail to Ahrensburg Town Hall, asking for contact details for their Trading Standards Department:

Alternatively, you could try phoning the Town Hall. From the USA, the number is 011 49 41 02 77 0. The time in Germany is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Time. Remember to start your call with "Hallo, Sprechen Sie Englisch?" (and expect a delay while they find someone with good English).

Well she was running so late because she said the doll got lost in the mail. Time was running out to leave feedback. I ask her to give me good feed back because I paid for it quick and I would go ahead and leave her feed back. I left her good feed back ,she left me none. Have you contacted Ebay about it? She seems to be a still registered user and has been posting things since your purchase to other buyers. Ebay may be able to help in contacting her at least. Good luck with it all,I hope you get your goods or money back. By the way,those dolls she is selling are overpriced as they can be purchased for around �150.00 here in the UK.

Thank you !! You are the Best. I will start contacting these people . I fell in love with that doll as my daughter who is a nurse did also. We never saw reborn dolls before and was shocked by how Beautiful they are. This was the first doll she ever wanted to buy. It looked just like her and her daughter as a baby. If this lady only knew how much we wanted that doll. She would have made a lot more sells if it would ever have come. We showed picture to so many people who also never saw a reborn doll and they wanted to see it . They wanted to buy one too if it looked in real life like it does in the pictures.
