I was wondering if you could help.

Someone I hardly know approached me and asked If I had a camera. I said yes. Then this person asked me if she could borrow.

I did not know what to say but i was so confused that i must have said yes.

I do not think it wa sa good idea though (In my home country you do not borrow such things off people, especially things that cost lots of money).

what should I say now?

Thanks

is she someone you see quite often or a neighbour?
i would ask for it back because you need it for tomorrow as you're taking pictures for a friend at a kids party...or something along that line. hopefully she will give it back so you don't let the kids down. i know its a lie but its worth a try
hope you get it back.
Go pick up one of those disposible thingys and tell her "beggars can't be choosers"
You do not need to lie. Tell that person that you've changed your mind about lending out your camera.

You are not obliged to give an explanation or reason. It is YOUR camera and don't HAVE to lend it to anybody if you don't want too.

These type of people who borrow of virtual strangers usually become a nuisance if you give in to them.
Or you could tell her you can't find it so therefore she can't use it?
you could ask for a deposit or their first born child lol

I would say i have yes but as it cost 200 quid only i am allowed to use it
"sorry went home and found it is broken"
"sorry my mum, brother, sister etc has it"
"I've lost the dam thing sorry, my home really untidy at the moment lol"
I would tell them that the camera belongs to someone else and therefore you cannot loan it to them. Say you misunderstood the question when it was first asked.
I would lend my camera to some I could trust to look after it , but not to someone I hardly know. So what happens if it gets broken or lost ? tell them to get a disposable camera which comes with the film they only cost 1.99.
