Nativity Plays

Why should most UK be so 'politically correct' in not having Nativity Plays in Primary schools when the likes of Sudan have penalised, Jailed and deported an innocent teacher for upholding a teddy' s name suggested by Muslim children?. Where's this going to lead in the future?

I'm not religious and my children have outgrown nativity plays but if other people feel they're being denied them then I will speak up for them.

Its a bit of entertainment, a Christmas show, something for the children of faith schools and their parents to look forward to. It is not part of our cultural heritage as such and since as said above most of the UK does not recognise the sanctity of Christmas and the Nativity as Christians do anyway - it really has no place anywhere other than in faith schools or churches.
Personally I enjoy them, but then I enjoy a lot of the shows the schools of my nieces and nephews put on. It is a jolly good night out. As said by Jake, if you want it, complain, if you dont, then dont. If your child goes to a faith school and they are not doing a nativity, then ask them why. If they are not a faith school, then one would assume some other form of Christmas show is laid on? JStO maybe?!

cazzz1975, Why I thought you were christian:
This thread is about Christian nativity plays in schools and you seemed to want them or at least you were sad at there demise. And you regret that they do not have the proper christian carols anymore.
I am confused now, do you want the plays or not?
Are you a traditionalist?

I can safely say that thankfully I have never received (or god forbid sent) a Jacquie Lawson Christmas card. I have just looked her up. Awful.

I don't like people cashing in on christmas . But if they are not even christians or religious, then they are just commercial pimps.
