Are we really in a mess ?

I am not very politically minded and do not wish to start a discussion on politics but between the two major parties...ie...tory and labour they have been in power about 26 years between them. Everything now, health, education, immigration, social services, housing etc all seem to be of great debate because things are in such a mess, but if neither party can sort this out, which they seem unable to do what are the chances of there ever being a solution.

I think you will find its been a helluva lot longer than 26 years. The last time the Liberals had anything to do with it was in the National Government in 31-32 and the last time they governed in their own right was in 1915
