Prostitution?

What do you all generally think of prostitution? They say it is the oldest profession, some of the hookers i have seen were founder members i think.

Laughing at both of you! topogigo I am not sure how I feel about it. I wouldn't like to BE a prostitute, but I can understand why some people are. It isn't always a question of choice, as a lot of you will know.

I don't think it's definitely bad, but then I don't think it's definitely good either! I think if it was regulated, then those engaging in it (worker and client) would be safer, physically and mentally, and somewhat more protected.

Often prostitution is a consequence of something, or wrapped up in other issues.

Well said Red, although i have known some particularly sad cases, some of our tenants have been prostitutes and none of them did it to better themselves it was always for drugs or at least booze.

I will come clean and admit that i have used prostitutes, a couple of times, once in Amsterdam in 1980 and once in India. I have no shame by it. It is very similar in my mind to having to pay for drinks for some dozy tart all night to get a sh4g. In fact you try and entice a girl into bed when you have persistently refused to buy her a drink all night. Your chances are limited unless you marry one and that costs even more.
