ipod dilema

a few months ago i bought an opod but couldn't get it to work. so i posted a question here and i was told to download itunes to make it work properly. so i did and it work. i plug it in it charges and then i push he eject ipod button and then it starts working beautifully. the only problem is that it stops working as soon i unplug it. as oon as i take out the wire that cnnects i to the internet the screen goes blank. i thought it ight be the hold button on top but its not. its charged fully and ejected from the tunes so wy wouldn't it work now. please please please please can someone tell me ow to work this stupid thing properly and how to listen to it wire-free.

Hi. You don't say what sort of ipod it is, but if you go onto http://www.apple.com/support/manuals/ipod/ thats Apple's ipod support page with links to manuals for all their models of ipod. If you download the one for yours it may have a troubleshooting guide that could identify the problem for you?

Could well be faulty.

If you still can't get it to work, phone Apple's tech support -- they're very good, and will send you a new one.
