when i hear politicians and public speakers talk of peace...i always wonder what they mean by peace...
is peace a complete non existance of war?
Or is peace a controlled balance of war and peace?
what would the world be like without war?
im not convinced it would be the paradise we all hope/wish it to be. yet throughout the ages, throughout the years, each generation strieves for peace...i suppose what im really asking is...
Man is born a hunter. Even if peace was to be totally restored in the world, it's in our nature to have those who're more dominant than others. This can cause battles in all sorts of ways. Unfortunately, modern wars of today are all caused by greed in one form or another. If we eradicated that, we'd all be a lot more peaceFUL.
There has always been at least one war going on somewhere in the world right throughout history. It is probably an extension of our inherent need to possess, and governs the formation of Societies.
We humans are not a very peaceful species by nature and I doubt if worldwide peace will ever eventuate.
You know this answer sounds a lot like the response I'd expect to hear from Eighteenth century slave owners.
"There always has to be salvery one group of people will control and own others, it's the way we are made... there's nothing you can do about it, how would civilisation run without slavery? it's impossible"
World peace is the utopian ideal of planetary non-violence by which nations willingly cooperate, either voluntarily or by virtue of a system of governance which prevents warfare.
Most rulers would welcome world peace, provided it is on their terms and they are in charge.
