I do a lot of fundraising and am thinking of organising a murder mystery party for about 60 people. I have in mind a black tie event, with champagne cocktails and supper (which I can deal with), but for the actual murder mystery, for obvious reasons, I don't want to ask a professional organisation in, so has anyone ever done this, and if so, can you give me any advice? Any information would be very much appreciated. Many thanks.

I understand why you don't want to get professionals in, but this outfit seem to sell the equipment and information needed to do your own!

Sounds like a fab idea! Hope it's a great success!!
Hi naomi,

I do a fair bit of fund raising for my Rotary group - it may be worth contacting a local am dram group, as they may put one on very cheaply.

WE had one recently that was really good - and raised a decent amount of money.

When ever I mention the fact that it is for charity, most people / groups seem to bend over backwards to help.

As an example, we will be putting on a CSI night soon. Normal cost would be 25 - 35 per person. They are charging us 6 so that we can make money for the charity.

I would just say that 60 is a lot of people - we normally aim for around 40.

There aren't any dead bodies - sorry

It is a fun evening (did one before). You get to take fingerprints and understand how you compare them. Dust plates for fingerprints and then compare them to prints to find out who dunnit. You also get to play with computer software to do identifit pictures and you get to do some basic ballistics.
Sounds brilliant Vic. I think I might see if I can do one later in the year.

Thanks everyone. China, as you know, I've never seen CSI, so I can't comment on that, but there definitely won't be any computers involved in my planned evening. Any further ideas will be most welcome.
If the price is right, you can get somebody bumped off!
Adds to the fun .......
