The 90 limited edition retro range from 1988 was relaunched two years ago by Nike.

The inner linings and heel carry the words " Runnin' n' Gunnin.

I was wondering if Nike have missed a great marketing oppertunity.

With millions of trainers hitting the UK shores each year, how about a range of trainers that send out a positive message to the youth or today ?.

What about a lining that carries the words " Stop the killing " or " Don't take a life" ??.

A total of 53 people have been stabbed to death in London alone this year so far....5000 people were admitted to A&E suffering from stab wounds last year.

Whats YOUR take on this serious social issue ??

Of course it is as serious as it gets. I hope govt officials and law makers will start targeting where it needs hitting and stop shooting in the air. Tougher and practical punishments. Nothing else would work. Keep watching and wake me up later.
I hadn't even heard of these trainers but how corporately irresponsible was it to even put them on the shelves in the first place. Of course by withdrawing them now, they are a collectors item. Ridiculous idea in the first place.

I think its about time that the "rap" and "hip hop" culture started promoting a positive image and yeah maybe a line on trainers could be the start of it. ALl this "ho" loving and weapon carrying glorification is so inappropriate.

The USA have some of the toughest prisons and sentencing guidelines in the modern world.

This has not stopped gang killings, street shootings and knives.

Is prison really a deterrent ?

Is building more and more prisons the answer ?.

Or is it down to education..

You are right they could have put some words to the effect of 'USE YOUR FOOT NOT A KNIFE'
Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned fight to settle a feud.
Then some glove manufactures could have come along with 'USE YOUR FISTS NOT YOUR FEET' for some fisticuff action.
I am not taking the P8ss here 'A BOOT IS BETTER THAN A BLADE

How about " USE YOUR HEAD AND DONT END UP DEAD"

Gone are the days of settling a fight with your fists, and if the person you hit goes down and you continue to kick them, then thats attempted murder..

Sports wear with Kevlar anti stab inserts, trainers with removable soles to track off DNA from a scene of a crime, come on guys.
